Current points position: Tied for 9th  | Best season e.t. to date: 6.611

Early-season report card: The son of Fernando Cuadra and brother of Fernando Cuadra Jr., Cristian grew up watching his dad race in Mexico and attending NHRA races in Dallas. His expectations are humble, his work ethic is clear, and his success is building with each qualifying round.

Looking back: “The first race of this season was really amazing, I was excited and happy to be back driving my car, the car was working good, we were improving our 60-foot times. Our team was doing good — not perfect, but good. I still want to improve my driving. I think I’m doing well, but I have a lot of room to improve.”

Looking ahead: “I’m learning more about the car setup, the fuel-injection tune, and I’m analyzing all the Racepak data to evaluate my shifting and try to be better. Mentally, I’m trying to think positive; sometimes I’m nervous about my driving because I think I [should be better] at it.”

Shop talk: “The cars are at Jerry Haas’ shop getting some updates. We are changing some things on the setup for the car, like the four-link.”

The final word: “My goal for the season is to be better than last year. If I can get into the top 10, that would be like a dream for me.”
