The 2026 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series Countdown to the Championship continues this weekend at NHRA’s newest event, the NHRA Nationals at The Rock at historic Rockingham Dragway. The event is the last of four new races on the 2026 calendar. It is also the 16th of 20 events this season and the second of six races in the Countdown to the Championship playoffs.

This week, the PlayNHRA Favorites include Doug Kalitta, Matt Hagan, Greg Anderson, and Matt Smith in Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, and Pro Stock Motorcycle, respectively.

The inaugural Rockingham event will be part of the PlayNHRA initiative, where drag racing fans will once again have the opportunity to engage in fantasy games, gaming, and betting for this event. Betting markets feature Professional classes, where fans can wager on event winners, low elapsed time of the event, head-to-head matchups, and season champions.

TOP FUEL

Reigning and two-time Top Fuel champ and current points leader Doug Kalitta is a slight favorite to win in Rockingham, with opening odds of +500, which is slightly shorter than teammate Shawn Langdon, who opened at +600, and is coming off a dominating performance in Michigan last weekend.

The Team Kalitta entries have been favored for most of the season, and rightfully so. The rest of the contenders in Top Fuel include a fleet of drivers at +900, including Antron Brown, Justin Ashley, Leah Pruett, Tony Stewart, and Maddi Gordon.

Josh Hart’s opening odds are +1000, with Billy Torrence and Tony Schumacher at +1100 and Will Smith at +1200. Smith is coming off arguably his best performance of the season, where he set career-bests in Michigan.

Moving into longshot territory, Dan Mercier (+2000), Shawn Reed (+2100), Clay Millican (+2800), Rit Pustari (+6000), and Cameron Ferre (+7500) fit the bill.

FUNNY CAR

The Funny Car points battle is wide open, with the entire Top 10 separated by just 109 points, with the Top 5 bunched within a 49-point spread. Martin runner-up Matt Hagan leads the way at +500, followed closely by Austin Prock at +600, Martin winner Jordan Vandergriff at +700, with Jack Beckman and J.R. Todd each at +750.

A bit further down the order, Chad Green, Ron Capps, Daniel Wilkerson, Alexis DeJoria, Spencer Hyde, Hunter Green, Paul Lee, and Cruz Pedregon represent value picks as they are priced between +850 and +2300.

This week’s long shots include Dave Richards, John Smith, and Jon Capps, who are each at +7500.

PRO STOCK

Although they stumbled in Michigan, KB Titan teammates Dallas Glenn and Greg Anderson have won the majority of the events in Pro Stock this season, and they are once again atop the odds with Anderson at +270 and Glenn a shade behind at +300, indicating that they are both sizable favorites against the rest of the field.

Jeg Coughlin Jr.’s recent performance surge hasn’t gone unnoticed as he’s +600, followed by his nephew, Martin winner Troy Coughlin Jr., at +1000.

Matt Hartford, winner of three events already this season, is also among the favorites at +1100, while Erica Enders, Cody Anderson, and Aaron Stanfield each open at +1400. Greg Stanfield is at +1500.

A bit further down the order, Matt Latino is at +2000, with Shane Tucker at +2100, along with Deric Kramer at +2500, Eric Latino (+3500), and Kenny Delco (+4000), and Stephen Bell (+5000) rounds out the Pro Stock field.

PRO STOCK MOTORCYCLE

Indy winner Matt Smith continues to lead the way in the Pro Stock Motorcycle category with a price of +300, which is slightly ahead of Martin low qualifier Ryan Oehler, who is at +400. Two-time world champ Gaige Herrera is also among the favorites at +500, along with Angie Smith at +600 and Richard Gadson at +700.

John Hall, coming off an impressive win in Martin, is a surprising +1200, a price he shares with Chase Van Sant. Clayton Howey leads the mid-pack contenders at +1600, along with Ronald Procopio (+2300), Martin runner-up Marc Ingwersen (+2400), and Steve Johnson and Geno Scali, both at +2500.

In terms of long shots, there is Marcus Hylton at +3000, Malcolm Phillips at +3600, and Lance Bonham at +7000.
