Delaune, Brand lead Lucas Oil Series winners at NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals

In addition to the Mission Foods Drag Racing Series action at the Super Grip NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals, five winners were crowned in Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series action at Bristol Dragway.

A pair of Division 4 racers met to decide the Super Stock final with Jacob Delaune claiming his first career victory by beating Hayden Trumble. Delaune left first and drove to a 9.824 on his 9.80 dial for the win.

Michael Brand has attended four events this season and he’s been to the final round of three of them after winning the Stock title in Bristol. Brand scored his second straight national event win after Doug Lambeck fouled by a thousandth of a second.

After numerous late-round finishes, Chris Childress sealed the deal for his first national event title in Super Comp with a great run that included a .008 light and an 8.866 after world champ Colby Fuller fouled.

Lauren Freer won her ninth NHRA National event Wally and her second this season by taking down the Super Gas title. Rob Stigall left first but broke out, allowing Freer to win with a safe 9.948.

Canada’s Gerard Milette turned in a great performance in the final of Right Trailers Top Sportsman with a .001 light an a 7.204 on his 7.15 dial to stop Jeff Brooks, who broke out by eight-thousandths.
