Shawn Reed has qualified in the top half of the field at 12 of his 15 races this year. Kyle Satenstein is making his 3rd start. Reed is 1 - 0 against Satenstein in prior events. Satenstein with the starting line advantage, but has a fuel leak and leaves a trails of flaming fuel behind him. The car is sideways and crossed the centerline and the car was on two wheels. He kept it off the wall. He did a great job driving. Reed is straight down the groove for the win.

In the last 2 years Justin Ashley is 29 - 8 in Rd. 1. This is Doug Foley's 7th race this year. Ashley is 5 - 2 against Foley in prior events. Ashley with a great light and never trailed for the win. He will give up lane choice to force in the next round. Foley is up in smoke right at the hit and clicked it off.

The #1 TF qualifier is 34 - 4 in Rd. 1 here. This is just Mitch King's 5th race since 2008. This is the first time Langdon and King have faced each other in eliminations. Langdon with the starting line advantage and never trailed for the win. He makes the quickest pass of race day. He will have lane choice over Millican by 0.003 seconds. King is up in smoke right at the hit and clicks it off.

Antron Brown wins 80% of his Rd. 1 races when he has lane choice. Ida Zetterstrom's perfect reaction time in St. Louis was just the 5th in TF history. Brown is 1 - 0 against Zetterstrom in prior events. Brown with the starting line advantage, but is up in smoke by 330 feet and clicked it off. Zetterstrom had the lead by 200 feet then around half track she started to lose traction and mix up cylinders. The engine lets go with a huge fireball sending parts of the blower high into the air. She still gets the win.

Doug Kalitta is 424 - 192 (69%) in Rd. 1 races overall and 15 - 2 (88%) this year. This is the 6th race this year for Jasmine Salinas and she is 5 - 0 in Rd. 1. Kalitta is 4 - 0 against Salinas in prior events. Salinas with a slight starting line advantage, but Kalitta has the lead by the time they go by the Christmas tree and never trailed from there on for the win. He will have lane choice over Zetterstrom in the next round. Salinas is up in smoke right off the starting line.

Steve Torrence is 6 - 0 against Josh Hart in Rd. 1 races. In his last 10 races Josh Hart is 3 - 7 in Rd. 1 Torrence is 9 - 1 against Hart in prior events. Hart with the starting line advantage, but started to haze the tires and pedaled it, but couldn't get it to hook up. Torrence started to haze the tires and pedal it and got it to hook up enough to get the win. He will give up lane choice to Reed in the next round.
