Former NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle world champion Angelle Sampey joined NHRA reporter Lewis Bloom via Skype in the Wally Parks NHRA Studio delivered by Papa John’s to talk about her team’s recent decision to skip the next four NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series events.
Sampey and teammate Cory Reed both missed the Top 10 this season as they struggled with parts breakage. The duo decided to regroup and work on their engines while setting up the team’s new engine dyno. She and Reed hope to be back in force later this season at Las Vegas. Sampey also revealed her choice for the 2017 Pro Stock Motorcycle Championship, one that will make her daughter, Ava Jane, very happy.
