Clay Millican joined NHRA reporter Lewis Bloom via Skype in the Wally Parks NHRA Studio delivered by Papa John’s to talk about his first ever win racing in Top Fuel this past weekend at Bristol Dragway.
Millican’s win came on Father’s Day, in his beloved home state of Tennessee and was over one of the best cars in the class right now, the Papa John’s machine driven by Leah Pritchett.
Millican recalled the moment he knew he had won the race, along with the incredible response he has gotten from fans and colleagues. One specific thing he mentioned was a voice message from former Top Fuel racer and car owner Darrell Gwynn. Millican also spoke about the win and what it meant for his car owner Doug Stringer and his crew chief David Grubnic.
