Track records were smashed on Saturday at Summit Motorsports Park as qualifying concluded for the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals. Now, the 2026 Mission Foods NHRA Drag Racing Season will officially reach the halfway points with Sunday’s final eliminations.

There is drama and intrigue across the board, especially in Top Fuel where the top side of the ladder features a “murderers row” of some of the sport’s best. Low qualifier Shawn Langdon will have a bye run but no one else is as fortunate. Doug Kalitta, Billy Torrence, Justin Ashley, Tony Stewart, Maddi Gordon, and Spencer Massey are all seeded in the top half of the field meaning that whoever reaches the final from that group will certainly have earned their way.

The best match of all might just be between Stewart and Ashley, easily two of the best drivers in the class. Stewart will have lane choice based on his solid 3.734 second run in his R+L Carriers/Elite dragster.

The bottom half of the ladder is no cakewalk as Gainesville winner Josh Hart is joined by Leah Pruett, Antron Brown, Shawn Reed, Tony Schumacher, Scott Farley, and Will Smith. Pruett will face Antron Brown in a battle of the two most recent winners on the tour.

The Funny Car field featured a competitive 4.07 bump spot with 15 drivers in the three second zone including defending event and world champ Austin Prock, who ran 3.863. Prock races Jeff Arend in round one.

Other key Funny Car battles include Matt Hagan and Daniel Wilkerson, J.R. Todd and Jordan Vandergriff, and Alexis DeJoria and two-time Norwalk winner Blake Alexander.

On Saturday, Dallas Glenn won $40,000 in the GETTRX Allstar Pro Stock Callout and the current points leader will again be one of the favorites to win at America’s Racetrack. Glenn’s road to the final opens with a round one match against Team Elite’s Stephen Bell.

The most anticipated match of the opening round features Elite teammates Aaron Stanfield and Erica Enders with Stanfield having lane choice. Greg Stanfield will also take on Jeg Coughlin Jr. in a battle of drivers who have enjoyed ample success in both sportsman and professional racing.

The Pro Stock Motorcycle class is led by two-time world champ and recent Bristol winner Gaige Herrera, who has a round one bye  run.

The best match of round one figures to be the tussle between Ryan Oehler and Chase Van Sant, to riders who have shown a dramatic improvement this season.

Champions will also be crowned in the JBS Equipment NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series, Flexjet NHRA Factory Stock Showdown, and Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series sportsman categories.
