Millwood, Cottens earn Holley Never Rest Awards at Midwest Nationals

Super Comp racer Tim Millwood and his team were the recipients of the Holley EFI Never Rest Award at the NAPA Auto Parts NHRA Midwest Nationals while veteran racers Mike and Paula Cotten were also honored.

Super Comp racer Tim Millwood and his team were the recipients of the Holley EFI Never Rest Award at the NAPA Auto Parts NHRA Midwest Nationals.

Millwood’s Fendt-backed '93 Dodge Daytona broke an axle on its second time trial pass and, with the event being the last that he could claim for points as he sits sixth in the championship chase, the team had to move fast.

With help of friends back home in Southern Indiana, his daughter Cathrine, and some college friends, Millwood, his wife, and daughter were able to get another car loaded, and they drove about 10 hours roundtrip and worked until 1 a.m. to get the car ready for the first round.

Stock racers Mike and Paula Cotten also received a Never Rest award for their special personal story. When they were married 50 years ago, their honeymoon was a drag race in St. Louis, and they celebrated their 50th anniversary by doing the same thing at the Midwest Nationals.
