Michigan has always put horsepower at the center of the American story and on September 17, NHRA, Dodge, and Mopar are putting that history on the road. The NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series returns to Michigan Sept. 18-20 for the inaugural Dodge NHRA Great Lakes Nationals presented by Mopar at U.S. 131 Motorsports Park in Martin. It will be the state's first NHRA national event in 66 years and the first ever at the popular West Michigan facility. The last NHRA national event in Michigan was held at Detroit Dragway in 1960, when the factories and drag strips of the Motor City were helping define American performance.

Now, in NHRA's 75th anniversary season, the sport is coming home. The Martin event will also open the six-race NHRA Countdown to the Championship, bringing the stars of Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, Pro Stock Motorcycle, and the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series to the Great Lakes State.

A moving celebration from the Motor City to Martin

To celebrate the return, the NHRA Dodge Tour de Michigan will turn the trip to the track into an unforgettable end-of-summer road tour. Car and truck enthusiasts, racers, families, and fans will travel together from Stellantis North America headquarters in Auburn Hills  through Hell, Mich., to U.S. 131 Motorsports Park, showcasing the people, vehicles, communities, and automotive culture that make Michigan unlike anywhere else.

The tour is open to everyone.

Dodge owners are invited to lead the celebration, but muscle cars, hot rods, classics, modern performance cars, supercars, trucks, 4x4s, and enthusiast vehicles of every make and model are welcome. Participants may begin in Auburn Hills or join the tour at one of the announced pickup points along the route.

Drivers will travel at their own pace along a suggested route, with representatives from Dodge and NHRA joining the tour and making the journey to Martin. The tour is a celebration, not a competition, and all participants are expected to be Dedicated to Safety and obey posted traffic laws and drive responsibly.
