The NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series reaches the halfway point this weekend with the running of the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk.

The event is No. 10 of 20 races this year in the NHRA Mission Foods Pro series, and it will include Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, and Pro Stock Motorcycle, along with the Flexjet NHRA Factory Stock Showdown, the Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage NHRA Mountain Motor Pro Stock class, Holley EFI NHRA Factory X, and 10 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series classes, meaning there will be 17 racers honored with the treasured Norwalk Ice Cream Scoop, as well as an NHRA Wally.

Saturday’s highlights will also include the latest round of the Mission #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge of the season, which will pit the semifinal finishers from the recent Richmond event in a race for bonus cash and additional points. These rounds are run concurrently with Saturday qualifying.

The Pro Stock category will also feature the GETTRX NHRA All-Star Pro Stock Callout for the top eight drivers in the Pro Stock category based on yearlong qualifying results. The field will include Greg Anderson, Dallas Glenn, Matt Hartford, Aaron Stanfield, Erica Enders, Jeg Coughlin Jr., Eric Latino, and Troy Coughlin Jr.

In Top Fuel, Tony Stewart comes in as the championship leader after a strong start to the 2025 season. He’s got a slim lead over former champ Shawn Langdon.

Austin Prock holds a 60-point advantage over teammate Jack Beckman in Funny Car with upstart Paul Lee third, just 99 points back.

The battle for the top spot in Pro Stock is between KB Titan Racing teammates Greg Anderson and Dallas Glenn, who have separated themselves from the rest of the field. Anderson is 67 points clear of Glenn.

In Pro Stock Motorcycle, two-time and reigning champ Gaige Herrera leads the way with a 100-point advantage over six-time champ Matt Smith.

As always, there will be a lot of special attractions in Norwalk, including nighttime qualifying on Friday night followed by the track’s popular fireworks show.
