In addition to the Mission Foods Drag Racing Series action at the Denso NHRA Sonoma Nationals, five winners were crowned in Lucas Oil Series competition at Sonoma Raceway.

Trey Vetter claimed his first NHRA national event title in Super Stock when he defeated Kevin Motter in the final round with a sharp .017 light and a 9.621 on his 9.61 dial. [video]

A week after winning in Seattle, Justin Lamb found the winner’s circle again in Stock when he topped Chad Loge, who fouled. Lamb now has 34 NHRA national event victories. [video]

After his win in Super Stock, Trey Vetter returned for a shot at a double in Super Comp but a faulty fuel pump cost him a chance at a victory. Dale Green was able to claim his second title with a coasting 9.05. [video]

Reigning Super Gas world champion Val Torres won the final round against Larry Scarth in a close 9.887 to 9.880 double-breakout. After the win, Torres is solidly in the Top 10. [video]

Aaron Steinkey, who drives the quickest car in the Right Trailers Top Sportsman field, was able to take a single run for the victory after scheduled opponent Rob Mendenhall broke and was unable to appear for the final. [video]
