Seven racers clinch spots in 2025 NHRA Countdown to the Championship playoffs
As a result of competition at the Muckleshoot Casino Resort NHRA Northwest Nationals, seven drivers have locked in their positions in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series Countdown to the Championship playoffs.
Just the three races — this weekend’s Denso NHRA Sonoma Nationals presented by PowerEdge, the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals, and the Cornwell Quality Tools NHRA U.S. Nationals — remain in the NHRA regular season that will set the combatants for the six-race Countdown playoffs. Top Fuel, Funny car, and Pro Stock will be contested at all three events, while Pro Stock Motorcycle will not compete at the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals.
Drivers qualify for the Countdown in two ways: by finishing in the Top 10 of points at the conclusion of the U.S. Nationals or by attending every race of the regular season and making at least the minimum number of required qualifying attempts at those events.
The following drivers have clinched their berths in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series Countdown to the Championship:
