New Rockingham Dragway grandstands completed for 2026 NHRA national event
Things are shaping up nicely at Rockingham Dragway, which next September will host its first NHRA national event, the NHRA Nationals at The Rock, with the completion of new grandstands at the famed North Carolina racetrack.
In a post on Facebook, track representatives said, “A huge thank-you to the State of North Carolina, Senator Dave Craven, Representative Ben Moss, NCDOT board member Pat Molamphy, Rockingham City Manager Monty Crump, and Richmond County Tourism Development Authority Director Meghann Lambeth for making this project possible. The support we’ve received from the community and our local legislators has been absolutely incredible."
The NHRA Nationals at The Rock take place Sept. 25-27, 2026, as the second of six events in the Countdown to the Championship playoffs.
