The Countdown to the Championship is in full swing, and the October issue of NHRA National Dragster has all of the action covered. The new issue is now online in digital format and in the mail in its traditional print format to NHRA Members around the world.

Before launching into the Countdown playoffs, the world's biggest drag race, the Dodge Power Brokers NHRA U.S. Nationals took center stage and the ND staff was on the ground and covering every wonderful moment, including an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at Ron Capps’ Funny Car victory in his Hot Wheels/Don Prudhomme tribute car and all of the other special events and races that surrounded the annual Big Go.

From a rain-slicked Pep Boys NHRA Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway to an action-packed weekend at zMAX Dragway for the Betway NHRA Carolina Nationals, the National Dragster writers and photographers captured all the explosive action — be sure to check out a wild trio of Hot Shot images that open the magazine — and stories in their trademark award-winning style, including an interview with Pro Stock’s winningest driver, Greg Anderson, who chronicled his long, slow rise back to the winner’s circle for our monthly “5 Minutes With …” interview.

Away from the national event scene, we chronicle all of the action from the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series in Divisions 2, 4, and 5 and NHRA Summit Racing Series Finals from Divisions, 3, 4, 5, and 6.

We’ve also got NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Racing Series coverage from Tulsa and Sacramento and a complete recap of the Right Trailers Jr. Drag Racing League Eastern Conference Finals from Bristol Dragway.

Columnists Luke Bogacki and Brian Lohnes share their insights into the sport, with world champ Bogacki debating the age-old question of what’s a better weapon for drag racing — a door car or a dragster — and Lohnes imploring you to take a broader look at what goes into a race win.

Finally, for our gearheads, Evan Smith tackles the mysteries of the racing clutch – what to look for, how to buy one, and how to know which one is right for you.
