The second 2023 issue of NHRA National Dragster, the annual Season Preview, is now online in digital format and in the mail in its traditional print format to NHRA Members around the world.

Cover subject Tim WIlkerson and his new alliance with Joe and Cathi Maynard helps kick off the traditional look at the season ahead as the fan-favorite Funny Car driver discusses what the new deal means to him and how it could help him in his bid for a first world championship.

The Dragster dissected the championship battles in Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, Pro Stock Motorcycle, Pro Mod, and Flexjet NHRA Factory Stock Showdown and offered its analysis of who can take home the titles and also did the same in handicapping the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Sportsman classes.

Also in the "what to expect" category are a pair of features outlining 10 exciting things that race fans might see this season, including a whole new batch of possible first-time Pro winners, who also get their own feature. There's also a photo gallery of preseason testing from Gainesville Raceway, so you can get a look at the cars before they hit the track for keeps at the Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals in two weeks.

The issue also takes a look at Super Gas racer Phil Unruh, who almost won the world championship last year with a fuel-injected Corvette in a class traditionally dominated by carbureted entries. You'll find more Sportsman coverage with results from the season-opening Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event in Orlando, Fla., and photographic recaps of the divisional racer awards banquets from across the country, as well as a tribute to the recently passed three-time Comp world champ Frank Aragona Jr.

We've also got an interview with new Funny Car racer Alex Laughlin and an in-depth tech piece of choosing and mounting parachutes for your race car.
