The ride was short for Jordan Vandergriff, but probably not the end of the road

Jordan Vandergriff definitely made an even bigger impression in this second episode of The Bachelorette than he did in the first — though maybe not the kind he wanted to. But #TeamJordan fans need not distress. There may be more to come.

Jordan Vandergriff definitely made an even bigger impression in this second episode of The Bachelorette than he did in the first — though maybe not the kind he wanted to.

In this episode, Bachelorettes Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia handed out their first set of date cards, which is a big deal because we get some quality screen time (sort of) with the contestants chosen for these dates. There are two-on-ones, one-on-ones, and often group dates throughout the season, and for Vandergriff, he was lucky enough to get chosen for a one-on-one by Recchia, whom he impressed during the first episode.

On their first date, they experienced zero gravity together and had a romantic sit-down dinner, which was honestly really fun and sweet to watch.

According to Bachelor Data, who analyzes all things Bachelor Nation, “70% of contestants who got the first one-on-one date of their season made it to at least halfway through their season, and 46% made it to hometowns.”

These numbers should have boded well for Vandergriff because, statistically, we were likely to see a whole lot more of him in the coming weeks.

Before their date, Vandergriff said, “The beginning of forever could start today.” And based on the chemistry he seemed to have with Recchia, I was confident that would be true. Sadly, his journey on The Bachelorette ended during their dinner date because although he was “perfect” and “exactly what [she had] asked for,” she didn’t feel that he was the one.

“I am eternally grateful to have had the opportunity to get to know [Recchia] and play a little part in [her] journey,” Vandergriff wrote in an Instagram post. “As for me, this journey we call life … continues.”

Vandergriff’s road to love on The Bachelorette may have ended, but I have a feeling this isn’t the last we’ll be seeing of him in Bachelor Nation. He made a lasting impression on viewers, and there’s already fan speculation that Vandergriff will be making an appearance on Bachelor in Paradise, the spin-off summery version of The Bachelorette and The Bachelor, where former contestants from both shows continue on their quests for happily ever after. We’ll be waiting in anticipation for that future announcement and manifesting it into the universe. #TeamJordan always.
