Western Conference Finals

For racers in the NHRA Summit Racing Jr. Drag Racing League, there is no bigger win than at one of the two Conference Finals events held each year, and it’s almost about time for the first of those events in 2021. The NHRA Jr. Drag Racing Western Conference Finals will take place June 21-25 at Osage Tulsa Raceway Park in Tulsa, Okla. The event draws hundreds of racers from throughout the country, competing for Wallys and a share of the event purse.

The Western Conference Finals features individual competition in eight age groups – 6-9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16-17 – and a team competition. All drivers in the JDRL are eligible to compete in the event, but only drivers from NHRA member tracks in Divisions 4, 5, 6, and 7 are eligible for the team championship. Racers from outside of those divisions will race as part of the Wally Parks team and can only win individual titles. The winner in each age group earns a full-size Wally like those awarded at NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series events, as well as the lion’s share of the event’s purse. Members of the team champion receive a small Wally for their efforts.

The 2021 Western Conference Finals will feature five days of racing fun, culminating in the crowning of the individual and track champions. It begins with index racing on Monday, June 21, followed by a Turtle Race and Little Money and Big Money events on Tuesday. A fun race, Performance Products Showdown, and the Teel Family Memorial Race wrap up the pre-Western Conference Finals track events on Wednesday. The Western Conference Finals officially kicks off on Thursday with two time-trial runs for all competitors. Friday begins with a time-trial run, followed by final eliminations until champions are crowned.

Jenna Chesleigh (age 6-9), Noah Taylor (10), Collin Russell (11), Hunter Millican (12), Cole Dickoff (13), Rylie Trumble (14), Mason Weaver (15), Tori Bryan (16-17), and Bremerton Raceway (Team) are the defending champions of the event.
