Topeka Top Fuel results: E1
Brittany Force throws down a 3.690 to set low E.T. of the event and Doug Kalitta goes 3.737 as Top Fuel class shows huge performance improvement in round one.
As predicted, elapsed times in Top Fuel plummeted after cool weather moved into Heartland Motorsports Park overnight. Brittany Force picked up nearly two tenths from her qualifying best with a 3.690 in her win against Clay Millican, who was well behind in spite of a very competitive 3.755. The next quickest driver was Doug Kalitta, who powered to a 3.737 in his win against Leah Pritchett.
Both of the Capco Contractors dragsters advanced with low qualifier Steve Torrence stretching his win streak to 16-rounds. With 14 cars on the ladder, he will get a free pass into the semifinals.
ROUND TWO PAIRINGS (Lane choice first): Steve Torrence vs. bye; Billy Torrence vs. Richie Crampton; Brittany Force vs. Austin Prock; Doug Kalitta vs. Antron Brown.
