Tempers boiled over in the first round of Top Fuel at the Auto Club NHRA Finals when points leader Steve Torrence took exception to the staging technique of opponent Cameron Ferre.

Torrence won the round but clearly was distracted by Ferre deep-staging and had an uncharacteristic .142 reaction time. After getting out of their cars, the two exchanged words and more.
