Fans attending the Dodge NHRA Nationals Presented By Pennzoil, Oct. 31-Nov. 3 in Las Vegas, will be in for a treat when the trick street-driven rides of Mike Finnegan and Jarrad Scott square off in a one-of-a-kind Gass-O-Ween gasser grudge match race.
Finnegan is no stranger to NHRA national events, having competed previously at the NHRA Winternationals in Pomona, Calif., when he raced his well-known Hemi-powered Blasphemi 1955 Chevy gasser against Hoonigan’s Jon Chase. He won that race and is looking for a repeat when he faces Scott’s wild, wheelstanding Ford Ranchero.
Scott’s green and white screamer, named Bitchin’, is a 1962 Ranchero Built by Dennis Taylor Hot Rods. It’s powered by a 540-cid aluminum Hemi topped by a Blower Shop supercharger.
Scott and Finnegan will race once on Friday, just before the start of the second Mello Yello qualifying sessions (approximately 2:30 p.m.), then square off again on Saturday just before the event’s third qualifying session at noon and, if needed, just before the event's final qualifying session.
