Eric Lane joined Cruz Pedregon Racing ahead of the 2020 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season as a co-crew chief alongside Nick Casertano. Lane and Casertano worked together on Bob Tasca III’s Ford Mustang Funny Car and will now help bring former world champion Pedregon’s Dodge Charger back to the winner’s circle in 2020.

"Last season was about building a strong team foundation and bringing on Eric only strengthens that foundation,” said team owner and driver Pedregon. “We’ve had some talented people with us, but I think Eric also brings the right fit for our team. I think Nick, Eric and I will match up well to the competition and I look forward to taking the Snap-on Tools Dodge to Winner’s Circle in 2020."

Lane previously worked with Rahn Tobler on the NAPA Auto Parts Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat driven by Ron Capps before joining Tasca ahead of the 2018 season. He has also worked with Jimmy Prock and Austin Coil. Pedregon is looking for his first win since the NGK Spark Plugs NHRA Four-Wide Nationals in April of 2018 and to get back into the NHRA Countdown to the Championship after missing the playoffs in 2019.

"I am excited to join Cruz Pedregon Racing,” said Lane. “There is a strong team here and I think we’re ready to take that next step forward in 2020. I can’t wait to get to Phoenix to begin testing and getting the Snap-on Tools Dodge Charger back into Victory Lane this season."

Pedregon finished 11th in the standings in 2019 with a round win-loss record of 7-24. He reached one semifinal, at the Dodge NHRA Mile-High Nationals presented by Mopar. The two-time world champion, now teamed up with Lane and Casertano, will return to action at the Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals in February. [Tickets]
