The battle between the KB Racing and Elite Motorsports teams continued at the Route 66 Nationals with the rival outfits each putting four cars into the quarterfinal round. For the KB team, low qualifier Greg Anderson advanced with low E.T. of the round, a quick 6.537. Anderson was joined by teammates Jason Line, Bo Butner and Deric Kramer.

The Elite team was able to keep pace with one notable exception. Five-time Pro Stock champ Jeg Coughlin Jr. bowed out on a rare red-light start against points leader Butner. Elite-powered drivers Erica Enders, Alex Laughlin, Matt Hartford and team principal Richard Freeman each turned on win lights. Freeman, making his first start in a year, showed no signs of rust with a 6.571 to 6.612 win over Chris McGaha’s Harlow Sammons Camaro.

Round two pairings (lane choice first): Jason Line vs. Alex Laughlin; Deric Kramer vs. Matt Hartford; Greg Anderson vs. Bo Butner; Erica Enders vs. Richard Freeman
