Richard Townsend and the Nitroholic Racing team will make their hometown debut at the Toyota NHRA Sonoma Nationals.

After a break on the NHRA trail for the team since the Menards NHRA Heartland Nationals in Topeka back in May, the team will arrive in Sonoma armed with a new truck and trailer as well as an updated clutch program, both to continue to build on the already solid beginning to Townsend’s first NHRA Mello Yello season and better set the team up for success into the future.

townsend2.jpg“We made the change to the more modern eight-stand clutch combination after the Topeka event in an effort to make our clutch program more consistent and take advantage of some performance benefits as well” said Townsend. “We also were able to secure a new-to-us semi truck and trailer through the folks at Lucas Oil and have been working since taking possession to get it set up and ready to race out of for our team”.

The team also will have the Lucas Oil Hospitality Trailer on-site for the team for the weekend in conjunction with the race team pit area.

“The chance to race in front of our Hometown crowd for the first time only comes along once and we decided to take advantage of that and purchased the Lucas Oil Hospitality setup for the weekend,” said Townsend. “While this makes it nice for our families and friends to have a place to support our team, it also gives us a great platform to bring in some potential partners and sponsors that are looking to possibly work together into the future and help build on our program. No better place to enjoy an NHRA event than in the heart of the Wine Country.
