NHRA and South Georgia Motorsports Park officials have announced that based on the current weather conditions at South Georgia and the forecast this week leading up to the scheduled NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event, the decision has been made to postpone the event until Sept. 7-8, 2018.

The mid-week forecast for the South Georgia area calls for continued thunderstorms through the week.  Even if the weather system does break up by the weekend, the venue will be saturated to the point that racers will not receive the best experience that NHRA and South Georgia Motorsports Park want to provide to the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series participants and fans.

Looking at weather models throughout the summer, the best option is to move the event into our fall block of events with a new date of September 7-8.  The daily schedule will remain the same.
