Bob Tasca III hired former Don Schumacher Racing crew chief to tune alongside Eric Lane on his Ford Motorcraft/QuickLane Mustang Funny Car in 2019. Tasca announced the move in a tweet Monday morning.

Tasca failed to reach the Countdown to the Championship in his full-time return to NHRA Drag Racing in 2018, which was Lane's first year as a crew chief. Green spent 2018 as a floater crew chief at Don Schumacher Racing before tuning Tony Schumacher's Top Fuel Dragster for several years prior. Green also received credit for work on Antron Brown's dragster during the latter half of the season.

Tasca went 13-24 in 2018 and made one final -- certainly not up to the lofty standards the Rhode Island native holds for himself. The Mustang struggled with consistency, but Lane seemed to find his groove towards the end of the season in terms of getting the Funny Car down the strip. If Green adds stability to the Ford Funny Car team, it will mean yet another ultra-competitive flopper in the field in 2019.
