Houston Memories: Doubling down in Houston town (1997-2000)

From 1997 through 2000, Houston Raceway Park became one of the few tracks to hold two national events per season, hosting both a spring and a fall event. John Force was the only one to win both events in the same year, winning in Funny Car at the 1999 events.

Houston memories: An NHRA female first and and some really fast fuelers (1992)

More history was made at Houston Raceway Park at the 1992 Slick 50 NHRA Nationals, where, for the first time in NHRA history, women qualified in all three Pro classes and the then-fastest speed in NHRA history was recorded by Mike Dunn as were the national e.t. records in Top Fuel and Funny Car.
