Greg Schenck left first and never looked back in the Comp final in his H/EA ’32 Bantam as he drove to a (-.578) 8.882 for the win over Greg Kamplain, who recorded a (-.501) 6.939 as the NHRA JEGS SPORTSnationals raced to completion at Beech Bend Raceway Park.

Five-time world champion Kevin Helms came from behind to top Michael Brand in the Super Stock final. Brand left first by nearly a hundredth, but spun the tires, allowing Helms to cruise to his 31st NHRA national event win.

Matt Antrobius grabbed the Stock title with a double-breakout win against Travis Buth. Antrobius ran 11.184 against his 11.19 dial to secure the title after Buth ran under by .008-second.

Brad Cole scored a well-earned victory in Super Comp against Sherman Adcock Jr., one of NHRA’s Top 50 Sportsman drivers. Cole won the double breakout affair, 8.892 to 8.881.

Division 7 racer Val Torres Jr. made the long tow to Bowling Green pay off with a narrow 9.911 to 9.922 win against Scott Sattler in the Super Gas final. Torres highlighted the win with a .009 light.

Past Super Gas world champ Bob Locke jumped into his son, Ryan’s Super Street Camaro and prevailed in the final with a 10.899 to 10.886 double-breakout win against Tyler Wied.

Dane Ward won his first NHRA national event title in VP Fuel Top Dragster with a 6.137 on his 6.10 dial to hold off JB Strassweg, who trailed with a .02-over 6.24.

Jeremy Jensen was nearly perfect off the starting line in the final of VP Fuel Top Sportsman and ran 7.227 on his 7.18 dial to claim the win against reigning world champ Darian Boesch, who wasn’t far behind at 6.263 on his 6.20 dial.
