Gibbons will reunite with Densham Motorsports for select 2026 events
Funny Car racer Tim Gibbons will reunite with Densham Motorsports for a number of races in the back half of the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season, beginning with the upcoming Denso NHRA Sonoma Nationals presented by PowerEdge.
Gibbons will be wheeling the Big-Time Pest Control/Crown Motors Ford Mustang with backing from Mike Semple of Mike’s RV Sales and Pro Stock Motorcycle rider and owner Charlie Sullivan, who owns Raging Bull Winery with his wife, Sharron.
“I am blessed to be returning as driver for the legendary Gary Densham for the first of many races this year,” said Gibbons. “I really enjoy driving for Gary and Joann. They are my favorite people and just a joy to be around. Greg Amaral is a phenomenal crew chief, and I look forward to working with him again this year. We also have the pleasure of having Matt Bynum co-crew chief, and I'm really excited to run as this duo can put up some big numbers.”
After the Sonoma event, the team will compete at the Muckleshoot Resort Casino NHRA Northwest Nationals in Seattle, then tentatively plans to compete at the Cornwell Quality Tools NHRA U.S. Nationals, the Texas NHRA FallNationals, and the Mopar NHRA Las Vegas Nationals powered by Dodge.
“Pomona [the In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals] is up in the air,” he added. “I really want Gary to drive Pomona because I see the fire in his eye every day wanting to get back in the seat, and we all know he's one of the greatest to ever drive one, so I would be really excited if he gets to.”
