PRO STOCK MOTORCYCLE Q1

Pro Stock Motorcycle four-wide qualifying kicked off with Michael Ray Jr., who's usually not on tour, and riding one of the five Matt Smith Racing bikes this weekend. He only rode to a 10.350, and will need to improve if he doesn't want to face the No. 1 qualifier on race day.

The second quad quickly improved on the first with teammates Ryan Oehler and Brayden Davis going to the provisional No. 1 and No. 2 spots, respectively. Oehler ran his career best speed at 201.28 and an e.t. of 6.752. Davis rode his Flyin' Ryan Racing/B&K Cylinder Heads Buell to a 6.762 at 200.29.

Angie Smith was the only other racer to eclipse 200mph, with a 6.781 at 201.46, and will claim bonus points.

PRO STOCK Q1

Recent race winner, Greg Anderson, quickly took over the provisional No. 1 position in his quad made up of Dallas Glenn, Greg Stanfield, and Matt Hartford with a 6.549. Though Stanfield was no slouch as he powered to the provisional No. 2 spot with a 6.552.

Brandon Miller, one of the lone competitors driving a Dodge machine this weekend and looking to capitalize on the new RPM rule change, is currently sitting 14th with a 6.634.

On the bump is Cody Coughlin, who went to the final at the Arizona Nationals but sat out the Winternationals due to personal commitments.

Those on the outside looking in are Jeg Coughlin Jr., who is celebrating his 500th race, Troy Coughlin Jr., and Roger Brogdon.

FUNNY CAR Q1

Five drivers ran in the threes — including three of four in the final quad — with Gatornationals winner Chad Green leading the way with a 3.941 ahead of Spencer Hyde (3.981), Pomona low qualifier J.R. Todd (3.987), Phoenix winner Ron Capps (3.988), and Daniel Wilkerson (3.993) all running less than four seconds.

"I knew it was on a decent run," said Green. "I saw my win light come on, so I knew it was a good run, especially in this heat, and it gives us something to tune on for tonight."

Jack Beckman, Matt Hagan, and Dave Richards ran in the 4.0s to round out the top eight.

Austin Prock, who is confident that his dad and brother have the tune-up they like in place, struggled like most of the other early cars in the session with a 4.97.

Cruz Pedregon, whose stunning DNQ in Pomona was his first since 2018, traced it to a broken air line in the fuel system that cut fuel volume by almot 50% on his final pass — which he says would have carried him into the top four of the field — so it wasn't like they had to reinvent the wheel between races, put down a get-acqainted 4.35.

Jeff Diehl's 2026 NHRA season debut netted a 4.52 while Hunter Green's first shot since his Gainesville outing ended before it began after the reverser cable detached.

TOP FUEL Q1

Tony Schumacher and crew chief Jim Oberhofer got the best salve possible after their disastrous, twin-rear-end-blowing weekend in Pomona with a 3.812 that led the session until the final quad when Shawn Langdon took over with a 3.768.

Ida Zetterström's season debut in Shawn Reed's car was also a highlight with a 3.814 that slotted her third for new sponsor GlobalSKU. Reed reportedly will pilot the team's second car in a later session.

The quick was impressively anchored by the 3.877 of two-time 4-Wide Nationals winner Justin Ashley, and Jasmine Salinas, in her first NHRA start since Gainesville, sits in the early bump spot with a 7.042, with three other cars on the outside looking in.

RIGHT TRAILERS OUTLAW STREET Q1

Having the scoreboards on for these street outlaw drivers is something fairly new, with the decision being made a few years ago. This weekend, nine cars will compete for eight spots across three qualifying sessions.

Chris Rankin and Kyle Canion were the first pair to down the track to debut the class, which ran before the pros. Canion ran a 3.716 at 211.59 in the right lane off the trailer and was low e.t. of the round.

Scott Taylor, who was instrumental in getting the class put together, piloted his Chevy Camaro, which he calls “Lil' Goldie,” to a quick 3.771.

One of the superstars in the class, Ryan Martin, was one of only two cars to run in the fours, with a 4.289.

Shawn “Murder Nova” Ellington, who was hoping to run in the low 70s right off the trailer, did just that during his first pass, clocking a 3.723 in his ProCharged Nova he recently painted black. Chevy Reeves, also known as “Helluva Chevy,” was in the other lane in his unmistakable turquoise 1970 Chevelle, which he calls “The Yeti,” where he opened with a 3.892.

The newly married Paige Coughlin was the last to make a trip down the track, and she drove her 1992 Camaro IROCZ28 called “Golden Child” to a 3.812.

PRO STOCK MOTORCYCLE Q2

Matt Smith came out in quad one, made up of Geno Scali and Wesley Wells, and threw down a whopping speed of 203.09 at 6.739 and rocketed to the provisional no. 1 pole. That bumped Ryan Oehler down to No. 2.

Plus, 200 mph speeds were the name of the game again in round two of Pro Stock Motorcycle qualifying, as half of the class broke the barrier.

Newcomer to the class, Clayton Howey, is holding his own and improved on his e.t. from round one of qualifying. There was some shuffling around near the bottom of the qualifying order, but Michael Ray Jr. still holds onto the No. 16 position as he did not make round two of qualifying.

PRO STOCK Q2

Alan Prusiensky, who sat out of round one of qualifying, made a solo pass and laid down a 6.921 at 197.31. He is one of the Dodge Pro Stock racers taking advantage of the RPM rule that was recently issued by the rules department.

Eric Latino was low of the quad, which featured Mason and Chris McGaha, and Cody Coughlin, and he improved on his time from Q1 with a 6.553. Then, Eric's son, Matt, is proving he belongs in the class and held onto the provisional No. 3 position with his 6.527 in round two of qualifying.

"I love four-wide, and that was a better reaction time," Matt said at the top end. "But no more mister nice guy, and no more playing starting line games with me. I'm moving up, and I'm going for that championship."

Then in the final quad, Greg Anderson lowered the bar again and set low e.t. of the round and of the event so far with a blistering 6.498 at 211.23.

"The car is in a happy spot, and when you get them that happy, don't touch them and screw it up," Anderon shared. "It ran better than I thought it was going to run. It felt pretty good all the way down the track."

FUNNY CAR Q2

The much-anticipated "hero session" yielded a new low qualifier as Phoenix winner Ron Capps steamed to a 3.883 in the NAPA Toyota to steal the pole from Jordan Vandergriff, who did great in his first nighttime Funny Car run with a 3.899, which ended up second.

Pomona winner Matt Hagan had the third-best run of the frame with a 3.901, and J.R. Todd (3.910), Alexis DeJoria (3.932), Jack Beckman (3.933), and Dave Richards (3.939) also all ran quicker than Chad Green's Q1-leading 3.941.

Ten drivers are now qualified in the three-second zone, and Cruz Pedregon just missed with a 4.001.

Two-time and reigning world champ Austin Prock, whose team always seemed to light the scoreboard on Friday night, missed again, and their 4.97 sits on the 16-car bump spot.

Phil Burkart Jr., who was making his debut in Bob Gilbertson's entry, broke on the burnout and is the only car on the outside looking in.

TOP FUEL Q2

Shawn Langdon's Q1-leading 3.768 was bettered six times under the lights, but in the end it was still Langdon and the Kalitta Air team on top, grabbing the pole back in the final quad with a 3.674.

Leah Pruett was holding the lead until Langdon's run, blasting to a 3.700 that put her between Langdon and his teammate, world champ Doug Kalitta, who ranked third with a 3.711.

Josh Hart, driving the HendrickCars.com entry in which Brittany Force made the sport's first 340-mph Top Fuel pass last spring, is qualified No. 4 with a 3.733, just ahead of Billy Torrence's 3.748 and Antron Brown's 3.76.

The top eight is rounded out by Spencer Massey, in his first race as a Top Fuel team owner, with a 3.781, while Jasmine Salinas, idle on the NHRA tour since March, clocked a strong 3.783.

Dan Mercier sits on the 16-car bubble with a 3.888 with three other cars hoping to get past him in Saturday's two final qualifying runs.

RIGHT TRAILERS OUTLAW STREET Q2

Right Trailers Outlaw Street took to the track again before the pros were set for their second round of qualifying. Hometown racer Carson Baker came into the second qualifying session on the bump, but he took his “Speed Cheeto” to a 3.729 on a single, which landed him in the provisional No. 3 position.

Chris Rankin, in his Camaro that he calls “Wife’s Money,” briefly held onto the provisional No. 1 with a 3.710, but Scott Taylor took that away with a 3.682 rip in “Lil’ Goldie.”

Ryan Martin, who is not driving the “Fireball Camaro” this weekend, did improve on his time from Q1 but lifted a little before the finish line to clock a 3.889.

In the final pair, Shawn “Murder Nova” Ellington was trying to take that No. 1 spot but had to drive his Nova away from the center line after it started drifting left, and landed in the No. 2 pole position with a 3.709.
