True Brand to support NBCF with Jim Dunn Racing Funny Car in Dallas
Jim Dunn Racing and Funny Car drivers Buddy Hull and Alex Laughlin will be shining a light on a worthy cause throughout the 40th annual Texas NHRA FallNationals with the True Brand Funny Car. True Brand will, in turn, be highlighting the amazing work the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) does across the country throughout the race weekend.
This will be the second time Jim Dunn Racing has represented True Brand and the third time True Brand has promoted the National Breast Cancer Foundation at the Texas NHRA FallNationals. True Brand has been a season-long partner with the team, and both Hull and Laughlin are thrilled to be promoting such a great foundation.
“Alex and I are thrilled to be promoting True Brand and, through them, the good work the National Breast Cancer Foundation is doing,” said Hull, who is still recovering from a hand injury. “This is the second year for Jim Dunn Racing to bring awareness to the NBCF thanks to True Brand, and Alex will continue to do a great job behind the wheel of this True Brand Funny Car, and I will be all over the track talking about this partnership.”
On Thursday before the event, Hull will be one of the featured drivers at the Texas Motorplex Prestage Fan Fest in downtown Waxahachie at Railyard Park. More than 100 drivers will attend the free event.
The True Brand Funny Car will be on track on Friday for two qualifying sessions, including the wildly popular JEGS Friday Night Live, where $15,000 in bonus money will be on the line, as well as a $1,000 bonus gift card from JEGS. The stands will be black and yellow to support the family-friendly night. When the True Brand Funny Car hits the track for the first time, plans are in the works for a special message from the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
“As a women-owned automotive additive manufacturer, we are thrilled to partner with Jim Dunn Racing for the Texas FallNationals,” said Crystal Mathews, president of Solid Start/True Brand Products. “With the race being in October, we feel it is the perfect time to celebrate our 12-year partnership with the National Breast Cancer Foundation. NBCF is so much more than awareness, as they provide free life-saving early screening to women in need — saving lives now.”
The National Breast Cancer Foundation was founded in 1991 by breast cancer survivor Janelle Hail. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1980 at the age of 34. At the time of her diagnosis, there was little information about the disease, and she was forced to decide about her health with few options. After her treatment, she made a commitment to help women around the world by educating them about breast cancer and the importance of early detection.
“Working alongside Buddy and Alex, and our incredible partners at True Brand, is so much more than a collaboration — it’s a shared mission,” said Ashley Miller, senior director of Public Relations & Spokesperson, National Breast Cancer Foundation. “Year after year, these world-class racers pour their hearts into bringing awareness and hope to women and families when they need it most. In moments when life feels uncertain, partnerships like this remind us that there is strength, compassion, and life-saving action in every race.”
