The outpouring of concern and sympathy from the NHRA community in the wake of Sunday evening’s roadway accident in Brownsburg, Ind., that severely injured NHRA competitors Dom Lagana, Richie Crampton, and Jake Sanders has been inspiring to the family and friends of the trio.
Dom’s older brother, Bobby Lagana Jr., issued the following statement: “We would all like to take a moment to say thank you to all of Dom’s amazing supporters. Growing up in a drag racing family has always showed us there is no stronger bond than family and friends who share this love for our sport. That sentiment has been proven time and time again, we are now seeing this bond with all of your support for Dom. Dom is an amazing, giving, selfless person. We all have faith he will make it through this and will continue to show the world how amazing of a person he is. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Love you all and God Bless.”
A GoFundMe account has been set up to help with medical bills. You can donate here.

I’ve been worried all day about my friend @richiecrampton as well as drag racing’s Dom Lagana (@lagana142) and Jake Sanders (@jakethesnakefc) all of whom were in a terrible accident last night in Richie’s ‘57 wagon. I have not found the right things to say or post, and I only have rumors about their injuries which are severe, so I am quoting a tweet from @BrianLohnes: The world of @nhra Drag racing is large on its surface but tighter knit than carbon fiber just below it. Last night after the race there was a horrible wreck and three very good guys need all the help they can get right now. Thinking of Dom, Richie, and Jake constantly today.
