E3 Spark Plugs, the Official Spark Plug and Official Ignition Products of NHRA, has signed an agreement to become the title rights sponsor of July 11-12 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series national event at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis.

The E3 Spark Plugs NHRA Nationals, featuring the Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, and Pro Stock Motorcycles classes, will be the first NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series event since the COVID-19 pandemic and will be the third of 19 events that make up the 2020 schedule. The event, the first of two consecutive weekend events at the historic venue, will be covered on the NHRA on FOX family of channels including a live FOX national broadcast network for Sunday’s final eliminations and qualifying Saturday on FS1.

“E3 Spark Plugs wants to express our sincere thanks to all the health care, first responders and essential workers that have provided such sacrificial care to all impacted by the Coronavirus,” said Todd Arey, President of E3 Spark Plugs. “Although this race is titled for our company, E3 wants to honor the service by so many health care workers around the world that have allowed this race to take place. We also recognize the health, economic and stress hardships that the virus has created for so many, and we wish everyone our best.” Steve Joiner, VP of Sales and Marketing added, “E3 is excited to be the title sponsor of the restart of the NHRA Drag Racing series in Indianapolis. We know the fans and teams are eager to get back to racing, and we’re all looking forward to great competition at Lucas Oil Raceway.”

E3 has been involved with NHRA racing across all platforms including the sponsorship of the E3 Spark Plugs NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series presented by J&A Service. E3-powered cars have won more than 150 NHRA national events and eight national championships in the past three years.

E3 Spark Plugs are available at over 25,000 retail outlets across the country, while the ignition products line is available at Summit, Performance Bodies, JEGS, and other fine specialty performance retailers.
