Chris Holbrook took his Ford Mustang to the top of the SAMTech.edu Factory Stock Showdown field at the Menards NHRA Heartland Nationals presented by Minties -- and he did so by a wide margin. 

Holbrook ran an 8.024-second pass at 173.36 mph in warm conditions in Topeka, while the next closest competitior, Bo Butner III, ran an 8.098 at 171.53 in a Chevrolet Camaro. The vehicles ran identical 60-foot times, but Holbrook made much better use of the next 1,260 feet to set the bar for the next three qualifying sessions.
