No one caught Erica Enders in the second qualifying session at the Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals presented by ProtectTheHarvest.com, but Rodger Brogdon made a great statement with a 6.543-second hit. That moved him into the No. 3 spot, behind Bo Butner and Enders, both of whom slowed. That was a common theme for the heavy hitters as it appears crew chiefs made the wrong adjustments while chasing bonus qualifying points.

Alan Prusiensky and Shane Tucker sat out the second session — that bumped the Australian (that’s Tucker) out of the field. Val Smeland is also out of the field after making a 12.089 run, so there will be some work to do on Saturday if they want to get into the show on Sunday. Kenny Delco holds down the quick half of the field with a 6.554.

Here is the qualifying order after two sessions:

Erica Enders 6.528
Bo Butner 6.53
Rodger Brogdon 6.543
Jeg Coughlin Jr. 6.544
Deric Kramer 6.546
Jason Line 6.549
Greg Anderson 6.553
Kenny Delco 6.554
Alex Laughlin 6.556
Chris McGaha 6.563
Matt Hartford 6.578
Fernando Cuadra 6.58
Steve Graham 6.623
Alan Prusiensky 6.648
Jeffrey Isbell 6.664
Joey Grose 6.685
Shane Tucker 6.715
Val Smeland 12.089
