Steve Torrence will chase his fourth-straight victory. He defeated Antron Brown, who drove through a fiery explosion in his Matco Tools Top Fuel Dragster, and posted a 3.804-second elapsed time to secure lane choice against Mike Salinas in the final round at the Route 66 NHRA Nationals.

Salinas coasted to victory in his Scrappers Racing Top Fuel dragster as Doug Kalitta turned on the red light for the first time since October of 2016. The San Jose Calif. native rebounded from watching his daughter, Jianna Salinas, wreck her Pro Stock Motorcycle less than an hour earlier and cut one his best reaction time of the day to move into the final. He's chasing his second Wally of the season.
