Mike Salinas made another spectacular pass down a warm race track at Route 66 Raceway, perhaps indicating the kind of handle tuner Alan Johnson has on the facility. The Scrappers Racing Top Fuel dragster went 1,000 feet in 3.755 seconds, .04-second quicker than anyone else in the category. That earned Salinas three bonus points -- and perhaps more importantly, solidified a race day tuneup for the team.

Jordan Vandergriff made the second-best pass in the session to earn two bonus points at 3.794-seconds. Clay Millican followed right behind with a 3.795 and hometown hero made a 3.835 to further impress in the uber-consistent Rustoleum Top Fueler. The rest of the session proved how difficult teams found the warm race track, evidenced by who is still outside the field with one session remaining: Scott Palmer, Luigi Novelli, Lex Joon, Chris Karamesines and Terry McMillen.
