Television ratings for the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series continue to reach historic heights as Sunday’s eliminations show from the NHRA Summernationals in Englishtown, N.J., on Fox Sports 1 (FS1), became the most watched show in NHRA history. During the broadcast 1,623,000 viewers watched as Steve Torrence (Top Fuel), Jack Beckman (Funny Car), Greg Anderson (Pro Stock) and Jerry Savoie (Pro Stock Motorcycle) record wins in their respective categories.

This is the second consecutive week that an NHRA broadcast has eclipsed the one million viewer mark, with the NHRA New England Nationals achieving viewership of 1,179,000 the previous week also on FS1. The finals telecast from Pomona and Las Vegas also had more than 1 million viewers during their broadcasts.

“The partnership with Fox Sports is continuing to place NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing in front of new viewers across the country,” said Ken Adelson, NHRA vice president, executive producer and chief content officer. “It’s the quality of the side-by-side racing action and the cooperation from our teams that provide the canvas to make these broadcasts something special.”

The NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series returns to action on June 16-18 NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals in Bristol, Tenn. FS1 will air the finals on June 18 with three hours of coverage starting at 6:30 p.m. Eastern.
