Prock with the starting line advantage and then starts to lose traction around 330 feet and clicks it off. Hull with cylinders out right at the hit, but stays with it to get the win. Hull for the second week in a row he upsets Prock to move on to the next round.

Ron Capps is 8 - 6 against Hagan in Rd. 1 races. Matt Hagan won the only meeting between these two this year. Capps is 42 - 40 against Hagan in prior events. Hagan with the starting line advantage, but Capps has the lead as they go by the Christmas tree and never trails for the win. Capps wins a close one in a close one. Jack Beckman wins 77% of his Rd. 1 races when starting from the top half of the field. Julie Nataas is the 11th woman to qualify for a FC field. Beckman with the starting line advantage, but is up in smoke early and clicked it off. Nataas is straight down the groove to get her first Funny Car win. She will give up lane choice to Wilkerson in the next round.

J.R. Todd is 15 - 6 in Rd. 1 races after a win. Spencer Hyde lost to Todd in the final round at Epping (But he did "leave first"). Todd with the starting line advantage and never trailed for the win. todd with the quickest pass of the round and he will have lane choice over Capps in the next round. Hyde is up in smoke right off the starting line and clicked it off.

Cruz Pedregon is 28 - 22 in Rd. 1 when starting #7. Hunter Green is the 108th driver to face Pedregon in eliminations. Green with the starting line advantage and is up in smoke by 200 feet and clicked it off. Pedregon is straight down the groove, but started dropping cylinders around 800 feet. He gets the win and will have lane choice over Richards in the next round.

Paul Lee is 5 - 2 in Rd. 1 this year. Chad Green is 1 - 1 against Lee in Rd. 1 this year. Green is 5 - 2 against Lee in prior events.
