Kalitta Motorsports, DHL, Kalitta Air partner in 2025 'Race to End Hunger'
Kalitta Motorsports, longtime partner DHL Express, and Kalitta Air are partnering again to accelerate the fight against food insecurity by helping working families, children, and senior citizens facing hunger through the now-familiar six-race program: the Race to End Hunger.
The Race to End Hunger campaign donated 2.75 million meals* to Feeding America and the Feeding America network of food banks in the last three years, but food insecurity remains a major problem in the United States. The Race to End Hunger returns this month to continue the effort.
More corporate partners than ever join the effort this year: Applied Innovation, Brown & Miller Racing Solutions, Dayco, Fifth Third Bank, Mac Tools, New Image Building Services, SoundGear, and Toyota.
The United States Department of Agriculture defines food insecurity as “a lack of consistent access to enough food for every person in the household to live an active, healthy life.” In the United States, more than 47 million people do not have enough food to eat. Families facing hunger are forced to decide between buying food and paying for housing, transportation, or medical bills. Partnering with Feeding America, the largest hunger-relief organization in the United States, DHL, Kalitta Motorsports, Kalitta Air, and eight additional corporate partners are working to make sure every person facing hunger has access to the food they need.
During the next six NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series events, every time Team Kalitta drivers Doug Kalitta, J.R. Todd, or Shawn Langdon turn on a race-day win light, donations from Kalitta Motorsports, DHL, Kalitta Air, and the eight partners will generate 40,000 meals.
The expanded program kicks off at next week’s Cornwell Quality Tools NHRA U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis Aug. 29-Sept. 2 and will continue at the next five races: the NHRA Reading Nationals presented by Nitro Fish Sept. 12-14 in Reading, the NHRA 4-Wide Carolina Nationals Sept. 19-21 in Charlotte, the Napa Auto Parts NHRA Midwest Nationals Sept. 26-28 in St. Louis, the Texas NHRA FallNationals Oct. 10-12 in Dallas, and the NHRA Nevada Nationals Oct. 31-Nov. 2 in Las Vegas.
By scanning the QR code at the six racetracks, through social media posts or by clicking here, fans can make a personal donation. Every online donation enters the donor into a drawing for a VIP experience for two at the 2026 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series race of the winner’s choice.
Feeding America established Hunger Action Month in 2008 to create a nationwide push to address the hunger crisis across the United States. Each September, the Feeding America network and its partners mobilize together to support people facing hunger get the food and groceries they need.
“At DHL Express, we believe no one should have to wonder where their next meal is coming from, which is why we’re proud to once again join the 'Race to End Hunger,' " said Nemer Abohasen, general manager at DHL Express U.S. “This campaign brings together our partners, fans, and employees in a true team effort that proves the biggest victories happen off the track — when we come together to make a real difference for those in need.”
“Feeding America does great work every day, but unfortunately, we have a lot more work to do; we are proud to partner with our friends at DHL to support Feeding America and this vital effort,” Team Kalitta driver Doug Kalitta said. “We hope to turn on a lot of win lights in these next six races, and we also hope the NHRA community will join the effort and scan the QR codes they’ll be seeing so, together, we can help Feeding America fight hunger. We really appreciate the support from all of the partners working to make it happen.”
Every dollar raised through the Race to End Hunger will help provide at least 10 meals. This partnership to support hunger relief nationwide is part of DHL’s sole goal of connecting people and improving lives, which guides all the company’s efforts and operations, underscoring its values and mission to ultimately better society.
“The number of people in our country who don’t have enough food to eat is staggering, and the number of children in that predicament is disturbing,” Kalitta Air Acting Chief Operating Officer Heath Nicholl said. “We are happy to join our friends at DHL and our race team in support of this incredibly important effort, and we hope, through this mutual effort, we can help Feeding America make progress in the battle against food insecurity.”
Through the Race to End Hunger, Kalitta Motorsports will actively engage the NHRA community through social media posts, race reports, and at-track promotions.
