King was born and raised in Racine, Wis., and currently works as a Chicago firefighter. King is also the owner of King Training Innovations LLC, a firefighter training company that he started in 2014.
With his time off from the firehouse Kingenjoys racing, playing hockey, working on cars, building and remodeling homes, camping, boating, and anything outdoors.
King started racing motorcycles at age 10 and progressed to racing cars at his local drag strip Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, Wis. He licensed at Frank Hawley's Drag Race School in a Super Comp dragster then quickly earned his Top Alcohol Funny Car license along with Nostalgia Nitro Funny Car. In 2018 King earned his Nitro Funny Car license with Paul Richards Racing.
King is proud to be part of and represent The Ronnie Thames Foundation, a charity for children's burn prevention, public safety education, and first responder recognition.
