Do you know who was the first driver in 2017 to score a round-win in the Mello Yello Drag Racing Series? The answer to that trivia question is Top Fuel racer Terry McMillen, who joined NHRA reporter Lewis Bloom in the NHRA Wally Parks Studio delivered by Papa John’s via Skype from his home in Indiana to talk about the start of the 2017 season racing.

McMillen had a very good start to the 2017 season with a career-best elapsed time in qualifying, 3.734 seconds, and on race day he ran 3.750 to defeat Clay Millican before losing to Doug Kalitta. The interview covered such topics as McMillen’s desire to make the top 10 in points for the first time in his career, along with his love of racing and the fans who support him. He also commented on some of the highs of his career, including the final round in Gainesville last year; some of the low points, including a major explosion last season in Houston; and about his fan-favorite son, Cameron.
