She starts the day with a career record of 91 - 91???.Larry Dixon has been to the final round 7 times at this race and he has won it 4 times. This is his 20th trip to Gainesville, his first was in 1995. Dixon loses power after the burnout and Forces gets the single for the win. force with his quickest pass of the weekend on the single for the win. This is the first time Schumacher and Smith have faced each other in eliminations. Tony Schumacher has 4 wins and 4 runner-up finishes at the Gatornationals???This is the 7th start for Smax Smith and he will be the 95th different driver that "The Sarge???" has raced in his Top Fuel career. Smith rolled in deep and then turned on the red light to give Schumacher the win. Schumacher with a good clean pass for the win. He will have lane choice over Millican in the the next round. The Safety Safari just called up they there was oil in Smith's lane from the starting line out to the 400-foot mark. Smax Smith was charged with an oildown, #2 for the season. That will cost 10 points and $2K.

Kalitta is 3 - 0 against Maier in prior events. Doug Kalitta has won here three times with his most recent victory coming in 2014. Kalitta with the starting line advantage and was straight down the groove for the win. He will have lane choice over Pritchett in the next round. Maier with his quickest pass of the weekend and just off his career best E.T. in the losing effort.

Brown is 5 - 0 against Karamesines in prior events. Antron Brown competed in his first NHRA at this event in 1998 in the Pro Stock Motorcycle class. He won here in TF in 2013. Brown with the starting line advantage and is straight down the groove for the win. Brown with his quickest pass of the weekend for the win. Karamesines clicked it off early.

Reed is 1 - 0 against Torrence in prior events. Torrence with a slight starting line advantage and never trailed for the win. Torrence will give up lane choice to Force in the next round. Reed is up in smoke around 300 feet and clicks it off.

Troy Coughlin's grandfather, Jeg Coughlin Sr. who celebrated a birthday last week, qualified for this race in Top Fuel in 1979. Pat Dakin also qualified for that event. Dakin goes red to give Coughlin the win. Coughlin with a real nice pass is straight down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend. He will give up lane choice to Brown in the next round.
