2:39 p.m. - Weather conditions: air temperature 96 degrees, relative humidity 32 percent, barometer 29.93 inches, adjusted altitude 3,058 feet, track temperature 130 degrees. After they did their burnouts, Beckman's car started shooting raw fuel out of the headers. The crew made some last minute adjustments and he staged with the car still not sounding right. Beckman launched and the rear tires went up in smoke. He gave up on the run and coasted to the finish. But in the other lane, Courtney Force went red and that gave Beckman the win. |
