Matt Hagan’s Tony Stewart Racing Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Funny Car will again wear the colors of Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage (JHG) at this weekend’s Betway NHRA Carolina Nationals and highlights the announcement of an extended partnership between Tony Stewart Racing and JHG.

The new agreement will include increasing their partnership from two primary events in 2023 to six events starting in 2024, with the possibility of adding additional races. Their 2023 primary races included the Denso NHRA Sonoma Nationals and the Betway NHRA Carolina. In 2024, JHG will serve as the primary sponsor of Hagan during the Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals, the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals, the Denso NHRA Sonoma Nationals, the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals, the Betway NHRA Carolina Nationals, and the Texas NHRA FallNationals. The red car design will feature JHG on the hood and side panels of Hagan’s machine. For all other races, JHG will be featured in an associate partner position.

“We are very excited to be sponsoring Matt Hagan’s TSR Funny Car and continue our growing relationship in the upcoming seasons,” said Jason Johnson, owner and president, Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage. “Our continued sponsorship with Elite Motorsports, and now the new mountain motor program only add to that. Tony [Stewart] and Richard [Freeman] both have great race programs and are the future of this sport.”

JHG was formed in 2021 and brings a passion and flare to the automotive realm. They aim to inspire, drive and celebrate progress. JHG spans across Jason Johnson’s car collection featuring more than 200 sought-after vehicles from classics, to hot rods and supercars.

“We’re excited to have Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage expand their partnership with our race team,” said team owner Tony Stewart. “2023 has been a great season with them and we’re looking forward to all we can accomplish together in the years to come. We share the common goal of wanting to keep the car culture thriving for generations.”

Hagan, a winner of four Funny Car events so far this season, is looking forward to representing JHG on a long-term basis.

“It’s so exciting to have Jason Johnson come over to TSR as a multi-year partner,” Hagan said. “It speaks volumes on what he’s wanting to accomplish out here in the motorsports world. He’s changing the sport by making it a full event to come to by bringing bands out to the track and bringing out new people. Jason’s car collection is unbelievable and it’s really fun watching his desire to grow the sport. He’s heavily involved in Pro Stock and we’ve been able to develop a close relationship over the last few years. He’s a great guy and his family is great. I love their energy and want to get them a lot of wins in the years to come.”
