Friends, family to celebrate Goodwin's life
12/19/2000
The drag racing fraternity lost a beloved friend when Robert "R.G." Goodwin, 60, owner of Brooks Rods, lost his three-year long battle with colon and liver cancer Dec. 15 at his home in California.
In accordance with Goodwin's wishes, family and invited close friends will board a boat, Thursday, December 21, to celebrate his life and scatter his ashes off the shore of Laguna Beach, Calif.
Also to comply with Goodwin's desires, there will be no other services.
Goodwin enjoyed golfing, fishing and drag racing, to name a few of his hobbies. Friends who wish to give a final salute to Goodwin are encouraged to think of him when they have a good golf game, hook a big fish, or make a good pass at the racetrack.
Donations may be sent to:
The American Cancer Society
In Memory of Robert Goodwin
Alton Deere Plaza
1940 E. Deere Ave.
Suite 100
Santa Ana, Calif. 92705
When making donations, please specify that acknowledgement be sent to Debbie Goodwin, 4348 E. Terra Vista, Anaheim Hills, Calif., 92807. Cards and letters of comfort may also be sent to Debbie at the aforementioned address.
