Hight scheduled for Pomona Full Throttle appearance

After racing to victory at the season-opening O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Winternationals presented by Super Start Batteries in 2011, Funny Car driver Robert Hight has his sights set on another trip to the winner’s circle during this weekend’s race at historic Auto Club Raceway at Pomona. With winning on his mind and a new season of competition looming, Hight says he’s also looking forward to the opportunity to mingle with fans during a pre-race appearance on behalf of NHRA series sponsor Full Throttle Energy Drink.

The day before qualifying begins at the 52nd annual race, the 2009 Funny Car champion will take time to spend with fans during an appearance on behalf of the NHRA series sponsor. The driver of the Auto Club Ford Mustang for John Force Racing will sign autographs and greet fans from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the G&M Oil at 14454 Foothill Blvd. in nearby Fontana, Calif.

The event will include free samples of Full Throttle Energy Drink, which will be distributed by brand ambassadors from 5 to 7 p.m.

“It has been a long off-season, and I am ready to get back to the track with my team and my Auto Club Ford Mustang Funny Car,” said Hight, who finished fourth in the Funny Car points standings in 2011. “I know the fans are just as excited as we are to get the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing season started, so I am looking forward to spending some time with them in advance of the NHRA Winternationals.”
