All 22 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series events feature same-day television coverage on ESPN2 of the Professional-class action with play-by-play from motor racing veteran Paul Page and expert color commentary by former Top Fuel and Funny Car racer Mike Dunn. ESPN2 also offers coverage of the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series. NHRA Drag Racing also is aired in Canada on TSN.

2011 NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Racing Series kicks off

The NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Racing Series kicks off this weekend at Speedworld Dragstrip in Northwest Phoenix with its first of nine stops for the 2011 season.

In action at Speedworld Dragstrip for the Fuel & Gas Championship event will be Groups 1 and 2 from the Heritage Series, consisting of A/Fuel; Jr. Fuel; AA/Gas; 7.0 Pro; three Nostalgia Eliminator classes; A/, B/, C/, and D/Gas; and Hot Rod.

Racing gets under way Friday with a test 'n' tune session followed by two full days of racing Saturday and Sunday. Qualifying and time trials run throughout the day Saturday followed by eliminations Sunday.

The NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Racing Series is just part of Speedworld Raceway Park's 50th anniversary event as the facility will be hosting a variety of events day and night throughout the weekend. In addition to the action on the quarter-mile, there will be food vendors, music, motocross, and off-road racing on the dirt track and a car show on Sunday.

The Nostalgia Top Fuel dragsters and Nostalgia Funny Cars will kick off their season at Auto Club Famoso Raceway and the March Meet, March 18-20, the second stop in the 2011 series.
