The NHRA Drag Racing State Championships member-track program is back in 2011 for season No. 2. Targeted toward the NHRA Summit Racing Series bracket classes, the events are designed to recognize grassroots racers who serve as an integral part of the success of NHRA Drag Racing. The program also offers a category for Jr. Dragster drivers, allowing the younger generation of drivers a chance to be their home state’s NHRA Drag Racing state champion.

In the inaugural year of the program, 2010 kicked off with great events across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico, where more than 200 NHRA state champions were crowned in various categories at 37 track-hosted events. Each year, State Championships host tracks will rotate, allowing all NHRA member tracks throughout each state the opportunity to showcase the event.

Jump-starting the 2011 season is North Star Dragway in Denton, Texas, on May 28th for the NHRA South Dakota State Championship. With more tracks signing up weekly, year two of the NHRA Drag Racing State Championships is sure to be another fantastic year for the program.
