All 22 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series events feature same-day television coverage on ESPN2 of the Professional-class action with play-by-play from motor racing veteran Paul Page and expert color commentary by former Top Fuel and Funny Car racer Mike Dunn. Force to face Gittin Jr. in Tournament Of Ovals semi’s Dec. 23

Ford Racing is keeping the pedal to the metal in the off-season with the inaugural Tournament of Ovals on Facebook. Fans have been voting for their favorite Ford Racing driver in bracket eliminations and 15-time NHRA Funny Car champion John Force has emerged as the drag racing champion and will face drifting champion Vaughn Gittin Jr. in the semifinal round. Voting will be conducted one day only: Dec. 23.

Force defeated Pro Stock driver Larry Morgan in this first round before upending family friend and competitor Bob Tasca III in the second round. Force faced one of his toughest match-up in round three versus Stock racer/automotive journalist Evan Smith. It took a late rally to move Force to the semi’s where he will face Gittin Jr.

If Force advances he would face either NASCAR’s Matt Kenseth or the winner of the Sport Car final between racers Scott Maxwell and Billy Johnson in the over-all Tournament of Ovals finals.
