All 23 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series events feature same-day television coverage on ESPN2 of the Professional-class action with play-by-play from motor racing veteran Paul Page and expert color commentary by former Top Fuel and Funny Car racer Mike Dunn. Sundays kick off with NHRA Race Day presented by Lucas Oil, a half-hour pre-race show that gets you up to speed for the day's activities. ESPN2 also offers coverage of the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series. NHRA Drag Racing also is aired in Canada on TSN.

Nine more lock up playoff berths; Dixon clinches top seed

Nine more NHRA competitors have locked up their berths in the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series Countdown to 1 playoffs as the result of racing at the Mopar NHRA Mile-High Nationals at Bandimere Speedway.

Top Fuel teammates Shawn Langdon and Morgan Lucas, Funny Car racers Bob Tasca III, Ashley Force Hood, and Del Worsham, Pro Stock competitors Ron Krisher, Greg Stanfield, and Shane Gray, and Pro Stock Motorcycle rider Steve Johnson have assured their presence in the playoffs, which begin at the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals presented by Lucas Oil.

Additionally, Top Fuel racer Larry Dixon has locked up the No. 1 seed in his category, which will give him bonus points heading into the playoffs.

The 17-race regular season of the Countdown to the Championship runs through the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals in Brainerd Aug. 12-15 and sets 10-driver fields for the six-race Countdown to 1.

Eight of 10 spots are claimed in Top Fuel, and nine are locked up in Funny Car. Pro Stock has eight qualified drivers, and Pro Stock Motorcycle has five of 10 spots filled.
